Vibrational Analysis

–This project deals with the FEA of the turning
tool subjected to vibration. The tool is made of high tensile
steel with carbide insert screwed. The tool taken for analysis
under the turning operation for heavy duty components, as
because of the higher the depth of cut and feed rate of the
tool exhibit the higher vibration which results in producing
higher noise and higher vibration around tool device which
may cause change to tool and reduction in tool life. The
objective is to reduce the vibration. This reduction in
vibration changing is possible by changing the tool
overhanging length 50mm, 60mm, 70mm and also providing
additional dampers (brass) on clamping side and insert side.
In the positions either on the top, bottom, or on left side that
is butting face also on all the three sides. Finally to prefer the
better position for minimizing the vibration. Is opted by
performing FEA of the free body vibration (modal) and
forced vibration (harmonic) and thermal analysis.
