Transfer of learning from classroom to workplace


The ultimate aim of any training intervention is to improve the performance of the employees and thereby the productivity of the organization as a whole. The companies send their employees for training hoping that they will come back and apply what they have learnt and improve their performance and productivity. But problem experienced by the companies is that the situation does not improve after training and that is the reason whenever there is a move to cost contol, the first one to get butchered is the training budget, since there is no conviction on the part of management about the returns on the investments made.

The study attempts to explore the strategies used by companies to ensure transfer of learning and the constraints faced by the learners in effecting transfer of learning to workplace.
