Study on properties and microwave application of magnetic resistive materials.

In this research programme, a systematic procedure to design waveguide matched load, coaxial line matched load and attenuator using magnetic resistive sheets, as well as new techniques for attenuation of radiation emanating from microwave ovens are evolved. An analysis procedure is finalised which indicates that the performance figures can be obtained as per requirements. Different techniques for attenuation of radiation emanating from microwave ovens using magnetic resistive sheets in combination with linear and slant corrugated structures are suggested. The physical properties of different magnetic resistive materials namely sintered ferrites, rubber ferrites, sendust, cabonyl iron have been studied. The properties indicated that these materials could be successfully utilized for V/UHF and microwave absorption. Examples of application fields are absorber panels or sheets to line the walls of anechoic chambers, materials for devices to absorb energy etc. More Info
