deals with experimentation on solar
drier incorporated with heat pipe technology for drying
tea leaves. Heat pipes are the most effective heat transfer
device that transfers heat with minimum heat loss. The
trapping of solar energy effectively and transferring to
the crop with minimal losses is done by heat pipes. With
this new design of solar dryer, to enhance the overall
performance, extended surface (fins) is used at the
condensate side and the pin fins were normal1y selected
in case of heat pipe. In this work, the heat transfer
coefficient of the heat pipe with pin fins is increased
considerably, therefore increases the thermal efficiency
of the system.
