ABSTRACT

         The project deals with accessing the files in the system anywhere in the world through the mobile without a centralized server. To start with, the mobile opens the application and specifies the filename. The mobile sends the IP address to the relay which is in the virtual private network. Then the relay will create the corresponding advertisement. The system sends its advertisement to the rendezvous. Now the virtual private network checks whether the advertisements matches and if it matches a connection will be established between the mobile and the system.

           The user specifies the filename in the mobile and the system will search the directories for the specified filename. After this, the file will be sent by the system to the mobile. Now through the mobile, the user can view the contents and do the corresponding updates. By using this application, the pictures can also be transferred from the mobile to the system. The Android application should be developed in the mobile and JXTA module has to be implemented in the system. The interaction between the mobile and the system is developed using JXTA and Android. By developing JXTA module and Android application, the user can access the file anywhere from the world through the mobile and can also transfer the pictures in the mobile to the system. The main requirement is that the system must be switched ON with the internet connection enabled and the mobile should have a GPRS connection.

JXTA is based upon a set of open XML protocols; it can be implemented in any modern computer language. Implementations are currently available for, Java platform, c, c++ and standard edition and android. The c# Version uses the c, c++ native bindings and is not a complete re-implementation in its own right. JXTA peers create a virtual overlay network which allows a peer to interact with other peers even when some of the peers and resources are behind firewalls and Nat’s or use different network transports. Android is a Java runtime environment which is adapted for constrained devices–devices that have limitations on what they can do when compared to standard desktop or server computers. For low-end devices, the constraints are fairly obvious, extremely limited memory, small screen sizes, alternative input methods, and slow processors. High-end devices have few, if any, of these constraints, but they can still benefit from the optimized environments and new programming interfaces that Android defines.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

           In today’s competitive world, people want everything to happen at their door steps. The information which is stored in the system can be viewed through the mobile by the users any where in the world. This makes the users to know the information where ever they are located and the pictures in the mobile can also be transferred to the system if there is no enough space in the mobile.

NEED FOR THE PROJECT

Nowadays, mobile has become a basic need for everyone. This project makes a person possible to know the contents of the text file stored in the system from any where in the world through the mobile. Sometimes there may not be enough memory space in the mobile to save the pictures taken, at this point of time, the person can transfer the pictures to the system without a centralized server and carry on taking pictures

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

The Mobile PC Browser deals with accessing the text files in the system and transferring the pictures to the system from any where in the world through the mobilewithout a centralized server.The mobile will specify the filename and the system will search the directories for the specified filename, from which the contents can be viewed through the mobile. For this process, Android application should be developed in the mobile and JXTA application has to be developed in the system. The connection between the mobile and the system is developed using JXTA and Android. The main requirement is that the system must be switched ON with internet connection enabled and the mobile should have GPRS connection.
