Improving Supply Chain Efficiency

Supply chain management (SCM) is the
process of planning, implementing and controlling
the operations of the supply chain with the purpose
of satisfying the customer requirements as
efficiently as possible. SCM is concerned with the
flow of products and information between supply
chain member’s organisations. Recent development
in technologies enables the organisation to avail
information easily in their premises. The
healthcare industry faces financial challenges
driven by poor data quality. Furthermore, lack of
visibility and inaccurate data have resulted in
inflated, unnecessary expenses and lost revenue
Improving supply chain performance has become
one of the critical issues for gaining competitive
advantages for healthcare companies. In this study
we are identifying the various key performance
indicators (KPI) to measure and analyse the
efficiency of supply chain. From the various KPI
we are choosing KPI particularly related to
healthcare supply chain to improve its efficiency
and analysis is done using statistical tools and the
improvements are measured.
