Comparative study of typical R.C. building using Indian standards and EURO standards.
R.C. Buildings are rigid frame structure, it is important because beam and column are monolithically cast and act collectively. Rigid structures provide more stability. This type of frame structures resists the shear, moment and torsion more effectively than other types. Now a days structures are designed with a view to withstand against earthquake forces likely to occur at their location. It is designed with a philosophy that loss of life should be minimized by preventing collapse of the buildings. Infrastructures of gulf countries are always remarkable. These countries mostly follow EURO standards for construction development. Some of the structures even in India, which is considered as developed country, also are built with the use of EURO code. In view of the demand of such codes across the developed countries, an attempt is made to compare EURO standards with Indian standards using computer tools like SAP 2000/ETABS/STAD PRO.
