CFD ANALYSIS AND TESTING

an experimental and numerical comparison of a heat exchanger of two different configurations has been carried out. Out of two methods available namely active and passive,  utilizing swirl flow and coiled tube devices, the passive method is carried out to attain the objective of  Heat transfer enhancement. The working fluid employed here is subjected to counter flow process in the heat exchanger, which has an inlet and outlet for hot and cold water respectively. At the end of the experiment, the heat transfer rate and corresponding pressure drop values are obtained as results, which indicates that there is an enhancement in the heat transfer rate of the exchanger.
